Why Mothers are so Special

Why Mothers are so Special – Very Nice story with Moral

Mum and Dad were watching TV when Mum said, “I’m tired, and it’s Getting late.I think I’ll go to bed.”

She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day Lunches. Rinsed out the popcorn bowls,  checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the Table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning. She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button. She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.

She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry. She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the excursion and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair. Mum then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night Solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.

Dad called out, “I thought you were going to bed.”

“I’m on my way,” she said. She put some water into the dog’s dish , then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on. She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and radios, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework. In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV And announced to no one in particular. “I’m going to bed.” And he Did without another thought. Anything extraordinary here?

Moral: Mothers are so special. Never underestimate their value.

Life is all about making priorities

Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities?
While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.
“That’s my son over there,” she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.
“He’s a fine looking boy” the man said. “That’s my daughter on the bike in the white dress.”
Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Melissa?”
Melissa pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes.”
The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”
Again Melissa pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes.”
The man smiled and said, “OK.”
“My, you certainly are a patient father,” the woman responded.
The man smiled and then said, “Her older brother Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I’d give anything for just five more minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa.
She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch her play.”

Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities?

Give someone you love 5 more minutes of your time today, so that you won’t have to regret it later!

Lost Pounds – Gain Happiness

Ben Davis
~Lost Pounds, Gain Happiness ~

Motivational video:

You may know Ben Davis as a marathoner, ironman or a role model to lose weight. But to me, he’s a great inspiration for everyone.

Ben was once ‘huge’ as he described himself, with 360 pounds. He was upset with himself and life was a mess. Till one day, he decided to make a change – he runs.

Like all things in life, the starting is always hard and slow. But later he ran 7 miles, 15 miles, 20 miles and even a marathon with his father and brother. Now, he lost 120 pounds and is a happy healthy guy.

Ben is not just an inspiration and motivation for those who want to lose weight, but to people from all walks of life. His courage and persistence turn what may seem difficult, to possible.

Learn from Ben’s experience: “If you really want to do it, just do it! You can”

Living Out Your Dream : Video

Dream Rangers
~ Living Out Your Dream ~

Motivational video:

“Dream Rangers” is not just a commercial to me (created by Ogilvy, Taiwan for TC Bank), but a touching motivational video too.

Based on a true story, this video shows 5 Taiwan senior citizens who went all out to realize their dream despite of their old age and illness. They were feeling weak, unwanted and depress until they decided to ride motorcycles again and go travel, just like when they were young.

The video is so heart-warming that left me speechless, just tears in my eyes. So I think you should just go ahead with the video, get inspired~

After you watch the video, ask yourself: “What is stopping you from achieving your dream? Are you brave and determined enough to pursue it?”

I hope you get motivated and be courageous just like the “dream rangers”~

Motivational Quote:

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

Funeral: Touching Inspirational Video

~ Touching Inspirational Video ~

Motivational video:

Below is a TV commercial named ‘Funeral’, by the late award winning film director Yasmin Ahmad.

The reason I picked this video is because I visit Yahoo Answers quite often and I noticed there are visitors who are asking for inspirational quotes related to death.

Yes indeed. Having to deal with the loss of a loved one is extremely difficult as the heart is sorely wounded. We need motivation and emotional support to go through the hard time.

In this video, the mother of three expresses her gratefulness towards her late husband in the funeral. She faced the death of her loved one with optimism and courage. It’s not easy to do but she accepts the loss with appreciation and positive attitude.

I hope this heart-warming video will inspires you as much as I do.

Making a Difference

Making a Difference-The Young Man and the Starfish

Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his journal writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.

One day he was walking along the shore. As he looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the day. So he began to walk faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man and the young man wasn’t dancing, but instead he was reaching down to the shore, picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean.

As he got closer he called out, “Good morning! What are you doing?”

The young man paused, looked up and replied, “Throwing starfish in the ocean.”

“I guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?”

“The sun is up, and the tide is going out. And if I don’t throw them in they’ll die.”

“But, young man, don’t you realize that there are miles and miles of beach, and starfish all along it. You can’t possibly make a difference!”

The young man listened politely. Then bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea, past the breaking waves and said, “It made a difference for that one.”

There is something very special in each and every one of us. We have all been gifted with the ability to make a difference. And if we can become aware of that gift, we gain through the strength of our visions the power to shape the future. We must each find our starfish. And if we throw our stars wisely and well, the world will be blessed.
